Environmentalism

We're looking for a Social Media Volunteer to help grow the effective environmentalism movement and increase the visibility of the Effective Environmentalism Initiative.

Location: Remote (preferably within timezones GMT +4 or GMT -2)

Hours: minimum 2 hours per week, flexible

 

About us:

The Effective Environmentalism Initiative is a nonprofit initiative that drives the practical community aiming to find the best ways to tackle environmental problems - and put them in action! We focus on solutions for climate change, pollution, and ecosystems that work at scale, are tractable, and neglected by others.​ As a part of our work, we try to connect people to orgs that work on these impactful solutions. Becoming a part of the Effective Environmentalism Initiative means not just building your CV, but also contributing to the most impactful ways of working on our climate. 

 

Description: 

As a social media volunteer, you: 

• Will (help us) boost our online presence and foster engagement.

• Tailor, plan, and post 1 social media post (on LinkedIn and Bluesky) per week.

• Engage with users on our Slack platform.

• Help create and execute a growth strategy for the effective environmentalism movement.

• If you’re interested, help with other aspects of growing the effective environmentalism community.

 

Preferred profile:

• You're able to clearly communicate complex ideas about effective environmentalism and climate change 

• You have (some) experience with content creation, community management, and analytics on social media platforms. 

• You have affinity with popular-scientific communication  

• You are familiar with effective altruism, climate change, and environmental progress. 

• You are well-read on the latest developments and developments  and actors in the environmentalist space, such as Giving Green, Future Matters, etc.

 

This is a volunteer position. As a volunteer, you will gain relevant experience as well as in-depth knowledge of effective environmentalism.
